Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A very free dragon in her own mind, Blissful Nightmare spends most of her time away from her clan, exploring the far reaches of the earth. She will sometimes leave for months on end, only coming back to find sanctuary and rest her wings. Nightmare is not held back by much, she has no mate and no offspring, though she is courted by males outside her clan. Despite the fact that she is female, Blissful Nightmare is the second strongest and fittest in her clan, closely following the alpha female, MidnightLightning. Her glossy black scales shine with the light of a new day, and her green eyes show determination and a free spirit, and because of this, she is said to be destined to be the alpha female one day. It did come as a shock to her and the clan when the beta male White Dragon Fire chose the timid dragon that is Wild Lightning Storm and not her, but it seems now that he wanted a mate that he could frighten and overpower. Because of that fact, Nightmare is now turned off by male dragons
