Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Life in the herd was easy for Theersha. Grandaughter to the herd leaders, Tareen and Traya, she was well bred, yet strong spirited and an efficient hunter. It was no secret that Theersha would be the next to lead the herd. The only issue was that, with Theersha coming of age, and with the mating season soon to come, Theersha had not shown interest in any of the fine studs that lived in the Reserve.

One cold winter's morning, Theersha thought she saw something glint in the woodlands. Curious as she was, she went to investigate, only to find the most strange creature she had ever seen. Day after day, Theersha ran away from the herd, only to return after the sun had set. One day, she returned no more.
