Ridgewing Dragons live just below the snow level on the upper slopes of mountains. They are a friendly, playful breed and enjoy dancing in wind currents near their homes or plummeting down into valleys from great heights. Their wings, by far their most striking feature, grow in fin-like ridges along their backs. While their bodies lack markings to blend better with their surroundings, a ridgewing’s wings have bright markings in the colors of the flowers that grow in their mountain habitat. Occasionally different-colored individuals can be found, but they are rare because their striking coloring offers little protection.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Sandy likes to fly below the snow caps. One day he looked up and saw a beautiful nebula, but it turned out to be a Nebula dragon.
When he met Shimmering Constellations, he was a hatchling. Shimmering was an adult that seemed to have a soft spot for him. One day, he flew just above the snow caps to speak with Shimmering. She landed on a snow cap because he asked her to show off her wings. He thought they were beautiful, and he told Shimmering. She embraced him with her wings, and then flew off. He wanted to go with her, but he was young. He dove back into the cave in which he slept, thinking about Shimmering.
When he grew, he was very happy. His wingtips were a marvelous color, or so he thought. A few hatchlings came up to him with the White dragon Frosted Willows following them with her staff. The hatchlings nervously asked if his wings were tipped with blood. He was sad, but Shimmering came and said how it was beautiful.
He and Shimmering then started a beautiful family of their own.
