Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its skin is smooth and doesn’t seem to have any color to it.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Birch got her nickname No-wings because she was born without wings and was made fun of for it. One dragon in particular, Mahi Mahi, took it too far. He tried to get into fights with Birch, get her mad for no reason, as Birch is very short tempered, and he and his friends would sometimes pick on her as well. But now that they're both older, they don't really physically fight anymore and only really argue and make snarky comments towards each other. They've kind of bonded through this. Other than making bonds with Mahi Mahi, she has a very strong bond with Syria, who basically adopted her as a little sister. Birch has made a few friendships with the others, her friendship with Lev, Adara and Nocturna being the closest.
