Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The cave's library is deserted. It's a small room adjacent to the main one, and you enter it quietly, fearing your mere breath may disturb what ancient texts lie within. Instantly, you feel drawn in by some unseen power that directs your feet slowly towards a particular volume, laying alone on a crudely made table. You glance around quickly, making sure no one is looking, and you open it. The spine cracks as you turn the pages (written in some unknown language) until you stop on one that has its corner folded down in a hasty bookmark. As your eyes travel over the symbols, doing your best to "read" them, you are interrupted. Cryptica, library guardian and translator, comes from behind you, her majestic orange-scaled head dipping over your shoulder. "At your service, Mortal," are the words you hear in an odd, inhuman, magic way. "The words you read called me, and so I am here." But, you reason, speech shouldn't be too unexpected from a Magi Dragon, for the breed's powers are legendary.
