Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s always proudly preening its patches of colorful scales.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Rue Doe is a hatchling whose growth was onset with a multitude of health problems. It is exactly this reason that her owner froze her, quite confident that such conditions would become worse with age. Rue Doe has slight-to-moderate difficulty controlling where she strikes, which has especially troubling implications on her hunting skills. This lack of precision has been affectionately called "The Wobbles" by her owner.

Despite her slight deformities and health issues, Rue Doe is full of spirit. Sprinting, practicing gliding, and breathing small tufts of harmless flame tend to be among her favorite pastimes. She particularly enjoys sliding down a smooth rocky slope outside her owner's den.
