Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Ever since it hatched, it has been hiding among the tree leaves.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Tatrophi was raised by a canopy dragon after a mother lost her egg to an unknown source. But it's not easy being a flier when you're born a glider. Years of practice buffed the long-dormant flying muscles buried in her breed's history to make her just as (if not more) agile then the average canopy dragon. However, not even growing up with a breed that rivals her own can eliminate the Neotropical in her! She's found sunning, lounging, eating and making spectacular sky dives commonly, often dragging her adopted sister, Canopai, into nearly everything she does. The Best-friends-forever duo are nicknamed 'The Tree Twins', even though they're not related at all.
