Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A very meek dragon who is often pressured into doing things he doesn't want to, this creature has been conned into doing everything from licking a VERY hairy ogre's armpit to masquerading (extremely unsuccessfully) as a human woman for a whole day. Yet while both these situations and many others have been extremely stressful and nightmare-inducing, nothing was quite as awful as the day his owner asked him to carry a fake name, as a so-called "placeholder." While this was bad, it wasn't super bad, the resigned dragon expecting "Mister Pinkletoes" or "Penko-chan" or something along those lines. But then his owner, shockingly, gave him a serious name--and the cheery news that it was actually the name of a powerful demon! Since then the poor dragon has lived in absolute terror, hiding in the trees all day and waiting with trembling wings and considerable whimpering for the day the real demon appears and kills him horribly for his insolence, never mind that his owner says he's long dead.
