Canopy Dragons love to soar above the tropical jungles and other densely forested areas. Their billowing, layered wings create generous lift that allows them to ascend effortlessly over the warm jungle. While their unique wings do not make them the fastest flyers, they are champion gliders. To further this end, dexterity, maneuverability, and grace are all judged by the females when selecting their mates from the males that can accurately complete the exhausting and elaborate courtship dance between the close growing branches of the upper canopy.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Mubu is quite an entrepreneur. She sets up annual dragon races, and organizes them herself each year. She is extremely loyal to her fellow canopy dragons, and because of this, the race consists mainly of forests. She loves trees, like all other canopy dragons. Yet she has such a great fear of fire that she can't stand to be to far away from rivers. She was never the most popular dragon around when young, but nearly every hatchling that knew her owed her something. She lives in a lush mountain, surrounded by a river on one side, and ocean on the other. It is far away from any other peaks, as her first instinct when seeing a mountain is to run in fear, thinking it is a volcano. Despite her eccentric fears, many dragons protect her as repayment for something they owed her in the past. While very well off, she would never think of herself as unkind or prideful. She loves to play with young hatchlings. Although those hatchlings parents may find a large bill the next day for her efforts.
