Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon... except for the tangle of dangerous-looking vines surrounding it...

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Like most of the frozen hatchlings in the Elders clan, there's a reason why Chel was frozen. Unlike most, it was her choice.

For she had seen her elder brother killed in battle by her father. He'd been taken by Creorluna and changed. At that point for Bristo it was either kill or be killed.

After witnessing the extreme carnage of the Creorluna war, Chel had a mental break down. The hatchling was on the floor, bawling her eyes out while her parents attempted to comfort her with no avail. She swore she never wanted to be a part of the war, not on either side.

Chel specifically sought out a magician to immortalize her in youth. She will play no part in the blood.
