Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Inkfeather is the most hot-headed of all the dragons in Marquian's Dragon clan. He is very quick to unsheathe his claws and always ready to fight for his ideals and loved ones. He doesn't enjoy books or stories very much as he prefers to be physically doing something however he loves Erin Hunter's warrior cat books that Marquian read to him and knows the story by heart. Bardonican, his mate is one of the few that knows how to calm him. They enjoy sparring together and recently he has become a very proud (and protective) father. He hopes to nurture a love of fighting in his child as well as a love of the warrior cat books. Despite his "Macho fighting guy" reputation he can be sometimes caught carving delicate wooden figurines with his claws. If he is caught he quickly scratches them to pieces claiming he was sharpening his claws.
