It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Amthyst, a name given due to the previous belief that all Purple Dragons were female. Recent events however proved that there are indeed males of the species. The name still fits well, Amthyst himself likes it. Brendan was fortunate that he was able to obtain such an elusive creature so early in his research, especially one like Amthyst.
Amthyst is a proud and boastful dragon that doesn't hesitate to tell, telepathically of course, high tales and stories to Brendan. Including one of how he was destined to be a Dragon King at birth, due to being a male of an ancient and powerful bloodline, but was pushed out of the nest as an egg due to his jealous siblings. Brendan finds the story quite unlikely, but the traditions and dragon customs Amthyst tells of, especially those of purple dragons, are of great interest. Should they be valid, Brendan will have made massive breakthroughs in the study of not just the male species of the purple dragon, but of Dragon Culture as a whole.
