Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It loves to chase butterflies.

And look, it has grown wings that release a faint, spicy scent when it waves them. It must be nearly mature.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

As fond of sandy shores as he is of butterflies, this playful little creature can often be seen scampering along the beach in pursuit of all the various birds and insects that live there. This has led his parents more than once to joke that he might be more blusang or blacktip than black tea, but thankfully they know of at least one thing that can tempt the little would-be sea-serpent away from the water--the lure of a nice hot cup of tea!
