Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It must be very shy since it keeps hiding from you.

It’s gotten slightly bigger! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Valued Words of Wisdom is wise beyond her age. She was frozen, so she will be forever young, but she has followed in the footsteps of her mother in the fact that she is forever pursuing knowledge and using it to help the lives of others.

All of the eight original Valued dragons were found at the cave entrance. They together formed an oath to be kind to all creatures, and to only kill to eat or protect themselves or loved ones. They also vowed to carry on their legacy of peace by teaching their hatchlings what has come to be known as the Code of Value. The Valued dragons tend to only mate within their species (or at least color), but this is only to help creatures remember their respective values when they see that color.
