Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
King of Frost was the first son of the North Wind. In order to continue the family line, he married the Queen of Snow, and proceeded to bear many daughters: Snow of the North, Snow of the East, Snow of the South, and Snow of the West. As he grew older, he needed a heir to his icy throne. Having only daughters, and having them unfit to take the throne, he proceeded to try for more children. He had a set of twins: Princess of Snow and Princess of Winter. Growing more desperate for a son, he tried for another child while his wife was under stress, and the child proceeded to have birth defects and no gender. The child was still loved, and named after him: Child of Frost. Deciding he'd have one of his youngest daughters take the throne, he gave up on having a son.
Nearing his retirement, he was surprised when his wife told him she was having another child. When the child was born, it was a son. Happy for finally having a son, he named him Prince of Snow, and named him heir to the throne.
