Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Onyx Blyck is the alpha female of the Blyck pack. The pack is a group of frozen black hatchlings that have banded together. Onyx has a very well-developed mind, even though she is a hatchling. She is excellent with strategy, and has very strong intuition, which is almost always right.

Origi Blyck is her partner; since she and Origi will never grow up, they can never truly be mates and breed. However, there is a strong attraction between the two of them, and they know that if they could grow up, they would become mates. Therefore, they call themselves partners. Onyx would do anything for Origi, even at the expense of another Blyck member.

The Blyck pack mistrusts the other six families of the scroll. They stay away from the other families, and only take care of each other.
