Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Subitus, or Sub as he is called for short, is not to be fooled with. His name means Sudden Hurricane, and rightly so. He can be docile and playful one moment and aggressive and serious the next. He likes to practice conjuring storms with his unusually powerful magic, cyclones being a favorite. But Kinners forbids him from creating storms anywhere near human settlements, preventing him from hurting anyone in his fun. He enjoys challenging Kinners' other dragons to races, being second only to Volatilis in flight. He is very competitive and has a lifelong dream to beat Vol in a race. Ironically, Sub only has trouble flying when in the rain, and he practices flying in rain whenever possible to improve his flight skills. His mate is Hilaris Noel, and he cares for her like nothing else, seeing that he went to the trouble of making an entire necklace from scratch for her when he proposed to Hil.
