Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Silver females eat meat only when a male dragon brings it to them as part of courtship, though they are typically highly-independent. They possess an almost magical aura that lights up any place they are in, and are looked upon with awe by humans and animals alike.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Aesia is one of the few silvers in her clan, and is coveted as a mate by all the male dragons that aren't related to her. This has made her somewhat vain and self centered, and she will spend literally hours staring at her reflection in anything reflective. Of course, almost every female in her clan (the notable exclusions are the pink dragon Avyssia, and the clan mother, Alandrah) would like her to fly away and go somewhere else so that the males will stop fawning over her. Unfortunately for them, Aesia refuses to leave in the argument of, "Flying that far would mess up my scales! It would take weeks to get them perfectly aligned again; there's no way."
