Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pontious Cciardi is a fervent dragon, relentlessly driven by the need to purge all sin from the world.  Her zeal sometimes gets the better of her and she sometimes punishes the most trivial of sinners in the harshest of manners.  At one point early in her life she was so extreme in finding and punishing sinners that she ran afoul of a host of more powerful dragons who had become annoyed beyond tolerance with her brash behavior.  They threatened to destroy her, and sensing defeat, and recognizing she could not continue her work if she was not alive to do it, she conceded her extremism and promised to be more tempered in her pursuit of justice.  She is still extremely zealous and seeks to push the boundaries of her penance as much as possible while still remaining under the radar of more powerful dragons.
