Shadow Walkers are a strange breed that possess the ability to slip between the planes of reality, becoming immaterial. This allows them to hide in the shadows, either hunting from the concealment of near invisibility or evading enemies. Though they become corporeal to mate or to eat, they spend most of the rest of their lives walking in the shadows. Shadow Walkers are wary creatures, though on dark autumn evenings when the leaves fall to swirl in the chill, rain damp air, they may be seen drifting out from the shadows.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dark Heart is a lonely, broken-hearted, and slightly psychotic dragon. But she was not always this way, oh no. No no. She became this way when she met Him.

The other dragons were never very nice to her. They always picked on her and bullied her. Then, at the end of the day, she'd come home to her two fighting parents. The stress of their fighting, the hurt of the bullying, and the added grief of learning she was an accident was too much for her broken soul. Thus she fled from all this, into the forest, never to return.

That's when she met Him. The tall, thin, pale dragon for whom she works. As a proxy, she is utterly loyal and always does as her master says. But sometimes she'll look back on her life, and think, 'What if I had stayed' Then she'll remember the pain of it all...

Rumor has it that Dark Heart still roams the woods at night, her insanity blinding her in such a way that she'll kill whatever she sees. And before she does, she always whispers:

"You will believe."
