Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Sizininanla Quis (sizz-in-in-an-la quiz), often called Siz'nla for short, or just Siz, is a young Black Dragon. Or, rather, everyone presumes that he's young. Siz'nla doesn't appear to have aged a day since he was brought to the flock's cave, and he's been here for quite a while. Perhaps he is enchanted—possibly even 'frozen' in time. Hatwox Quis, a Black Marrow dragon, takes care of him, hence the last name 'Quis'. He is one of the few dragons in the flock with an actual last name. Siz'nla's precise age is almost impossible to tell, but he appears to have only recently grown his wings. He spends a lot of time with Hatwox, and occasionally Jomwoc, the Tarantula Hawk Drake, although Jomwoc seems to not pay too much attention to him. His personality depends on who you ask—Hidath or Hatwox would call him 'a sweet little hatchling', while Atakga would most likely say that he's 'a tiny little monster'. Overall, the flock seems to like (or tolerate) their little eternal hatchling.
