Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Amo is the daughter of valentine dragon Amo Tu and pink dragon Dejutu. She is in the middle of a strain because her father wants to have her mother as a lifelong mate, but her mother isn't interested. Amo loves her father and mother, and wishes that they could be together, but she inherited some of her mother's arrogance and believes that she and her mother are better off by themselves.
