Ochredrakes are a curious species with a wide array of mutations and interesting behaviors. Not as intelligent as normal dragons, they only breed with other drake species. While they may not be bright, ochredrakes are flamboyant and fun-loving with amazing, chirping voices to sing with, and tame readily in the presence of a gentle hand.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

The Vain Archaeologist discovered Aedin's Reach while on an afternoon flight. Having long believed that Ochredrakes were the only dragons which existed, he failed to notice the other dragons occupying the Reach; including the Guardians, who were quite amazed that he bypassed their guard with such impunity. Luckily, he looked peaceful enough that they decided to let him go, so long as he caused no trouble. In the sunny Inner Courtyard, the Vain Archaeologist was stunned to see several Ochredrakes, and stopped to talk to onethe Witch of Paviland. Being a very moral and righteous dragon, he was astonished and outraged by her talk of rituals and magic, and left immediately. But despite his prejudice, the Vain Archaeologist is an intensely curious dragon, so he returned to the Reach, where the less shocking Ochredrakes are happy to sing with him, and discuss their songs and the sunrise, which is about as much as their flighty minds can handle.
