L4D was once a vine dragon by another name. He had a wonderful family with a genial mate and a hearty child. Despite his truculent demeanor, there were a handful of loyal friends by his side. A good life that he threw aside for the sake of power.

Always striving for a place of supremacy, he fought the cave's mightiest dragons to raise in the ranks. Until he challenged the alpha male, Arcane Riakye. The superior nebula dragon was too powerful for the tenacious vine. He kept persistent, though, never succeeding. The defeats didn't deter him, but with each loss his hostility and insanity grew.

During a dark storm, the vine found a spell-scroll that would increase his strength tenfold. Thrilled, and far too deranged to comprehend the consequences, he began the incantation. The spell engulfed him in a sinister fog and pierced his body with agony. When all was cleared, a dreadful, undead dragon stood in his place.
