Electric Dragons wield electricity with great prowess. Bright sparks race across these dragons’ bodies in a dazzling dance of light, complemented by the blindingly radiant sparks on their tails. Using their bellies and manes as stores for this electrical energy, Electric Dragons wield crackling magic, stunning and electrocuting their prey with a whip of their tail. During mating season it is typically those with the most brilliant sparks—an indicator of strength and hunting ability—that are drawn to each other.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Carmelita is a proud and skillful dragon, who is the only female among the Anu clan leader's inner council. She has been charged with keeping the clans members in order, and punishing those that cause trouble. She enjoys the job; she thinks any problem can be solved with a swift zap of electricity. Much of her time is spent chasing the Band of Thieves, a group of troublemakers named Sly, Bentley, and Murray. Carmelita is oblivious to the fact that Sly is love with her, and that he actually enjoys the fact that she is constantly trying to catch his gang. She is the law; he's a troublemaker, and that is all she sees. Murray and Bentley find it endlessly amusing that all of Sly's actions amount to naught. Carmelita is too blindly focused on her job to realize that her perfect match is right in front of her nose. Her position in the council means everything to her. Sly doesn't mind. He and Bentley will just continue to concoct wild plans that will keep Carmelita hot on their tails.
