Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

A sweet, refreshing aroma wafts from this tiny mint, and her back is covered with black chips, a pattern virtually unheard of in mints. She is extremely shy, and cowers whenever anyone approaches her. This is because on more then one occasion, larger, crueler breeds of dragons-such as reds, splits, and blacks-have tried to eat her, driven mad by her delicious scent. Some claim that, if mint, sugar, cream and cocoa beans were ever made into some world-famous type of frozen dessert, it would have her flavor.
