When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

She is one of the four pillars of command in the Gleaming clan. She is also known among her fellow clan mates as the Great Mother as she has the most children. Strong and beautiful, Oceans Gleaming is desired by several single males in the clan. Such efforts are futile however as she is a fickle lady who lets no one make any decision for her, especially whose babies she shall raise. The only dragon she cannot say no to is another aquatic dragon, Leviathan Gleaming. With him she has had the most children and her only daughter living within the clan, OceansLeviathan Gleaming. With so many children, her maternal instinct is very strong. Every hatchling knows that if there's trouble, OceansGleaming is the one to go to.
