Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

At first, Kayren never wanted anything to do with magic. In the region where she was hatched, sorcery was feared and despised. Her species especially was hated. She had to hide and watch while human beings murdered her parents before she could flee. She was taken in by a white dragon, and learned the art of healing magic from her. The tribe of magi dragons who lived in that area looked down on her as a disgrace because of this, all except for her best friend and mate, Kortis.

Kayren always keeps a calm and reserved expression around strangers. She happens to be a vegetarian, mostly because of being raised by one. Kortis always tries to convince her to eat meat or learn more offensive magic, but all he's really managed to teach her is how to cast a defensive circle around one's allies. These days they are often spotted taking walks along the beach, trading spells, or simply enjoying each other's company.
