Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Unborn dragons are ready to hatch early on in their development cycle. Ecaid was still safely huddled within her warm egg when the shell was cracked open and her skin was penetrated by Ebron's sharp fangs. The feeling of the poison spreading through her body was sickening, flowing from her shoulder to her forelegs, to her head, to her body, to her tail. Her muscles contracted in painful fits, yet the venom paralyzed her so she was unable to move. At last, darkness came over her eyes and the pain ebbed away as life left her. Death did not last long. When she awoke, it was still dark, but this darkness felt strangely natural to her. Clambering out of her eggshell she felt weak yet strengthened, and was plagued by an insatiable thirst; a thirst that could only be stilled by the blood of others.
