Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

The farmgirl was distraught. She had dropped the whole basket of eggs she was taking to the market, and now she had nothing to sell. But then, stepping off the path to clean up the mess with some leaves, she found another egg: it was big and green and pink. She decided to sell this instead.

This is how the egg—and the dragon hatching from it—came to be raised by a rich collector, who pampered the dragon inordinately and called her Princess Springblossom. Strangely, despite otherwise displaying normal intelligence for her breed, the dragon never responded to her name. At first this was taken as a sign that something was wrong with her hearing, but then it was found that she simply didn't like the name; as soon as people started calling her Mistress Springblossom, she'd come running like an oversized, scaly, green-and-pink puppy.
