This hatchling appears to be... dead?

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Once a month, on the eve of the full moon, it is said that this hatchling's body twitches. The everlasting aura of death mysteriously dissipates, if only for the briefest of moments. Afflicted by the Vampire curse and frozen from the sands of time, it is unknown if this hatchling is truly living. From the time the hatchling emerged from its egg, not one sound has emanated from its underdeveloped maw.

Highly suspicious of who froze the hatchling, the Coven has disallowed any outsider to be near it. Not even the peaceful White dragons of the Cave, whose intentions are well known and pure of heart, are permitted to view it. Protected by three Vampires at any one time, this hatchling will never be the victim of foul play again, even if it means the hatchling will be in a permanent state of suspended animation.
