Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Basola is a happy, friendly, and rather chirpy dragon. She likes to be happy and make others happy as well. Her days are spent doing things for other dragons around the cave. They all tend to love her, even the meaner dragons. For some reason, since she was very young, she's taken a lot of pride in making others smile. Her owner has occasionally referred to her as their cave's personal sunshine.

Obviously it takes a lot of work and time to go running around helping everyone all day. To relax, she spends sunrises and sunsets with her adopted older brother. Baluna, or "Loon" as she calls him, has been her closest friend since the day she hatched. They would be inseparable if not for the fact that Baluna is a Night Glory drake and generally prefers not to be out during the day. It took a long time for them to compromise and only see each other at dawn and dusk.
