Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Silver females eat meat only when a male dragon brings it to them as part of courtship, though they are typically highly-independent. They possess an almost magical aura that lights up any place they are in, and are looked upon with awe by humans and animals alike.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Selene Tanusipteron ("wide-winged") is so named because of her fondness for travel, not the width of her frills (neat and small like those of other silver dragons). She is a curious dragon, and loves exploration—often, she ventures forth with Osun or one of the other water dragons across the sea, with the water dragon helping her find islands on which to rest overnight. In return, her beautiful silver glow shines on the waves and draws fish to the surface for the water dragon's dinner. She is quiet, but not shy—she is simply so interested in learning about how other sentient beings live and what they know that she spends far more time listening than speaking. This makes her very wise and knowledgeable, and when she does speak, it is worth hearing.
