Canopy Dragons love to soar above the tropical jungles and other densely forested areas. Their billowing, layered wings create generous lift that allows them to ascend effortlessly over the warm jungle. While their unique wings do not make them the fastest flyers, they are champion gliders. To further this end, dexterity, maneuverability, and grace are all judged by the females when selecting their mates from the males that can accurately complete the exhausting and elaborate courtship dance between the close growing branches of the upper canopy.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Forlorn refused contact from everything; her parents, her siblings, even her own shadow made her bolt. She found her passion in reading; scrolls, books, letters, anything she could get her claws on. As a hatchling, it is said that she stumbled into a small crevice in the ground, where she fell into a massive underground library, where every single literary work was an ancient masterpiece, thought to be lost centuries ago. The library housed one book in particular; one said that whoever reads it unlocks the secrets of the stars. After reading, Forlorn not only gained the secrets of the stars, she became the sworn protector of the book. Thirsty for more knowledge, she spent centuries reading every scroll in that library, and when that wasn't enough, raiding kingdoms of their precious works. It is said that if you are brave enough to seek her out in her cave deep in the jungle, and bring her a book she hasn't read, she will allow you to read one single book from her collection.
