Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male Silvers hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Being a Silver, Maraiche is one of his clan's hunters. Unlike his siblings he doesn't care for the red deer to be found in abundance in their mountainous territory, but prefers to hunt off the coast instead. He loves the feeling of the waves beating against his body as he shears closely over the sea's rough surface. The sense of water engulfing him as he dives after a shoal of fish feels magnificent. Maraiche knows he could use his magic to take the fish but prefers the chase instead. When he has gathered enough food to feed his family, he will return to his rocky home up in the Highlands and curl up to his loving mate Dachaigh.
