Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Syari lives in a cave within one of the outer Mountains of Elgar. As an egg, he was found by the Magi dragon, Avedyr of the West, deep within the Mountains of Elgar, floating on a small cloud that was traveling on a strong wind current. Syari was brought to the human girl named Flight, who lives within the Mountains of Elgar and cares for dragons with her friend, Ember Nuria. As Syari grew under Flights care, he became friends with Orkens, a Geode hatchling given to Flight by Ember. Syari's power as a Daydream dragon didn't have much effect on Orkens and so the two had no problem with playing with each other. Syari is a kindhearted dragon. He hates conflict of any sort and uses his abilities as a Daydream dragon to calm the minds of anyone he thinks is about to cause an argument. Syari is partially afraid of his own power, and tries not to cause trouble by clouding the minds of other living things too much. When he's not busy with settling disputes, Syari like to play win the clouds.
