Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As a hatchling, the flower field where Linh lived was burned to the ground, leaving her an orphan. She came across Haizia, who accept Linh into her "family." She enjoyed her new life, but something was missing...

Years later, Linh awoke in a beautiful spring field overflowed with pink flowers. There, she met her long-lost mother and father, and the hole in her heart was filled... until she realized that it was all a dream. She discovered that the daydream dragon Rasui was causing these dreams. When she confronted him, he apologized for his actions and explained that he can't control how people dream when he is around. Eventually, he discovered that his own thoughts have a slight influence on what people dream of when he is around, so by not thinking of his own past, Linh wouldn't have dreams about hers. The two formed a somewhat odd friendship that eventually developed into love.
