Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s a brilliant blue-green color.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

The young sapphire looks longingly out to the ocean, while humming a small sea-shanty. The other sapphires, searching for the town of jade, overlooked this subtle beauty of the sun setting over the wide open sea.

The waves trickling into the sand, and the sound of the waves hitting rock lulled the young one off to sleep.
