Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

"Ryuujisei Day Glory No Jane" or "Dragon Day Star, Jane of the Day Glory" is a very social and friendly dragon. It is said that she is able to read one's heart, seeing their real intentions. She always appear before people with good and pure hearts. However, if she senses a dangerous person nearing her, she flies away without looking back. There were several people who have tried to catch her, but none of them were successful.

Although she likes being spoiled and pampered by others, she also loves freedom.
