Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Troublesome came by her name honestly. Her small size (small even for a pygmy) allows her to slip into almost any crack or cranny. She loves to cause trouble, too, which makes her quite well-known amongst the other dragons of the cave. Since she has a great love of pranks, she is best friends with Vine. She is also good friends with Dagon, but since he is more mild-mannered than she is and prefers to follow the rules to avoid getting into trouble, their personalities clash. This is especially true when she tries to convince him to play a prank and he refuses. Although Trouble can't comprehend why Vine would want to be friends with Coldblue, who she perceives as selfish and vain, she is still supportive of her best friends' efforts.
