And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

A quiet creature, this young female spends most of her time alone, sitting still and pondering over the oddities of the world. However, this behavior has led to her being mistaken for a Christmas ornament or decorative sculpture on more than one occasion, with people often trying to pick her up and return her to the shelf! As much as she finds these occurrences annoying, it's usually the human who gets the worst of it, as seeing something they assumed was a statue come to life is quite a shocking experience.
