Valentine eggs are only seen once a year. Adults’ mating seasons are very short, usually spanning a few weeks in the mid-to-late winter. These dragons were once reputed to be omens of good luck in love.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Psyche is the true name of this dragon, but her reputation has made her forever known as the Queen of Hearts. Like others of her breed, she was once considered to be a symbol of love and luck, and for a time she enjoyed it. But as time passed, she grew bitter at the joy others gained while she remained alone. Eventually she broke away, rarely showing herself to anyone, dragon or human; and when she does emerge in public, she does not attempt to spread the love. If anything, she tries to break the hearts of others, as her own has been. Somewhere inside, there may still be hope; but if there is, she refuses to show it.
