Hellfire Wyverns are so named for their foul tempers and fiery visages. Their social structure places all females above all males, due to superior physical characteristics and violent dispositions. Forced subservience of the males causes them to become vicious, petty, antisocial, and passive-aggressive compared to the aggressive and social females. However, orphaned hatchlings raised by foster parents of another species can develop surprisingly even tempers and mellow dispositions, proving that their defining unpleasant nature is, in fact, a learned behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

ScorchClaw has a somewhat even temper, because Mad1022 knew how tempermental Hellfires can be and decided to try and stamp it out of him before he mauled the Pygmies. ScorchClaw can still have "anger shocks," which is when he gets very angry and tries to burn everything he sees. Despite his temper, Scorch can be very friendly. His best friend is Flaming Energy. They enjoy having contests of who has the most powerful, long-lasting fire. They're rarely seen apart—besides, it's nice, when you're the smallest dragon of the cave, to have a VERY large dragon to protect you from feet.

  It's also well-known that ScorchClaw fancies Magma Claw. Magma knows Scorch would be a perfect mate—their names are alike, they both like fire, and they're about the same age. Scorch WOULD be the mate of Magma...except he blew it. Magma saw how CRAZY Scorch was about her, which amused her, and she decided not to mate him just to entertain herself. How cruel.
