Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Vynsa is more social than Bloodrune, and communicates with other dragons often. She is friends with Bloodrune, but she doesn't let her know her bad side. She only unleashes her cold-blooded side when no one is around. To prevent being recognized as Vynsa Bloodwing, she puts on a mask she made. She terrorizes hatchling and adults, but instead of biting eggs she breaks them with her tail or claws. She saves up her monthly venom to convert Lenapet's dragon eggs, so that she can train the vampires how fight and forage. She is strangely protective of Bloodrune's Slave, other vampires think this is too weird and made a rumor that Vynsa drinks the slave's blood, but of course that is too typical and rather obviously fake. She at least wishes they came up with something more creative.
