Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

In SunBrust's land, the time of day a dragon hatches determines his caste and whole role in life. Those dragons that hatch during the day are fated to be laborers and have a sun tattooed under their right eye. The dragons that hatch at night when the Lion is in the sky are fated to be defenders and warriors. The dragons that hatch under the Owl sign at night are to be students and professors. Those lucky few that hatch when the Swan constellation is seen in the sky become leaders. SunBrust hatched during the day just seconds away from becoming a Swan. SunBrust, however, is determined to escape her fate. She is not one to take such things just because it is tradition. She and her mother managed to blackmail the White dragon that tattoos the young dragons. Now SunBrust is living the life of a swan. Should she be caught, SunBrust would lose her life.
