Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Oroylther is a master of reverse psychology. He has most of the clan convinced that he is humble and modest but in fact has been slowly rising to a position of power. His status as a Gold Dragon has only helped his cause, as have his many offspring, several of whom share his gleaming golden scales. He seems like a kind-hearted, good-natured dragon to the casual acquaintance, which is exactly his goal. The more peaceful and reserved he is, the easier it will be for him to eventually dominate the clan and take power into his own shining claws. In the mean time, he keeps himself looking gorgeous and attracts females, increasing his progeny.
