Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s extremely curious and seems to enjoy exploring the area around it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Little Petala is about as sweet as hatclings come. She's always the calmest at meal times happy with her sweet tasting plant meals that most of her fellow hatchlings turn their noses up at. Many of them have nicknamed her 'Rabbit' due to her diet but she does not mind and will sometimes even hop when called by this name to earn a few smiles and laughs.
