Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Oculto is Herida's 'son', and he carries the same divided blood as his 'mother' does. He was originally a Nocturne, and the two of the horde count him favorably, which has led him to often leave from the other Numeratis and stay with them for a while. He's a very social Vampire, if a little bit shy and awkward around the newer horde members, and enjoys spending time with the other dragons. Oculto is somewhat shunned by the Numeratis, but he's well accepted amongst the Horde for his actually surprisingly endearing nature and soft-spoken ideas. He's an old soul and is wise beyond his years, something quite valuable to him when dealing with the Numeratis he's chosen to separate from. Empire and Asesinar do not like him one bit, which worries the Nocturnes who've sort of adopted him and Herida, as well as the rest of his mother's family in the horde.
