Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Beylia Endur is kind, understanding, and maybe a little excitable. She is allowed to stand guard at the entrance to the clearing of the Main Cave. Intruders will have to pass her deadly tail, and they seldom do. When she is not standing sentry, Beylia devotes her time to experimenting with her tail. Since she and another of her kind are the only Whiptail Dragons in the clan, Beylia must be able to teach new tactics to newcomers. So far, she has discovered more than 10 ways to fight, trap, defend with the tail.
