Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Honestly, Ten Thousand Nimbus is easily bemused. He is most flabbergasted of all by his lovely mate, Mrs Foley Hobbs, despite her personal choice to remain without a life-mate. He spends many hours—days, even—agonising over why she had chosen him, obsessing with his personal qualities and desperately trying to find that 'special something' that had attracted her in the first place. To date, he is still completely clueless.

What he has yet to realise about himself is exactly that—his own innocent ignorance has its own undeniable charm, and before he received the attentions of Foley, many females had tried (and failed) to get him to realise their attentions to him. All he thought was that their posturing and preening seemed rather silly, and remained oblivious to their intentions.

This unawareness gives him a very unique and fresh view of everything around him, and as such he is one of the 'modern thinkers' currently living in the cave.
